DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE:
Laura Hammond specializes in estate planning, tax planning and business
succession planning, including:
- Developing plans and strategies for dispositions of estates; lessening
the impact of transfer taxes while at the same time helping clients
achieve their personal and non-tax objectives.
- Achieving charitable goals through planned charitable giving.
- Advising fiduciaries with regard to the performance of their duties
and responsibilities.
- Strategic planning for business succession, enabling clients to
transfer business from one generation to the next.
- Use of family limited partnerships and limited liability companies
as strategies to achieve desired tax and business results.
Ms. Hammond's practice also focuses on the design and implementation
of sophisticated 401(k) and profit sharing plans, in addition to other
forms of qualified plans, employee compensation and employee benefit
plans, including:
- Designing Cross-tested and age-weight profit sharing plans.
- Preparation of qualified and non-qualified stock options and deferred
compensation plans.
- Use of insurance in estate and employee benefit planning.
Ms. Hammond also has experience in general corporate matters. She
has assisted numerous clients with the formation and organization
of corporations, limited liability companies and other business entities.
In relation thereto, she regularly prepares buy-sell agreements, leases,
employment contract, stock sale agreements, assets sale agreements
and other such corporate, commercial and employment documents.

Ms. Hammond is admitted to the Oregon State Bar and is a member of
